Position Overview
KL&A is an IT consulting firm that develops creative business solutions through project & program management and custom software applications. As a Junior Proposal Writer, you’ll work with the Proposal Manager and technical experts to create high-quality proposals. Experience in software or product development is a bonus to help you identify areas needing additional detail in proposals. This position is compatible with the Eastern Time Zone and primarily supports remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Proposal Manager and technical experts in proposal development.
- Identify and articulate areas for additional detail in proposals.
- Ensure proposal content aligns with business goals and follows established style guidelines.
- Continuously contribute to process improvements throughout the proposal development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience writing content in a business, technical, or academic setting.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce persuasive and narrative content that is concise yet thorough.
- Ability to follow style guidelines including voice, tense, capitalization, and formatting conventions.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to adapt to KL&A’s processes and tools.
- Capable of performing research and collaborating with subject matter experts to synthesize concepts into new content.
- Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with the proposal team to cultivate win themes and value propositions.
- Experience conveying information effectively to audiences of all skill levels.
- Proficiency in proofreading and editing contributed content.
- Ability to champion practices that uphold quality standards and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Must be self-motivated with a desire to continuously learn and grow professionally and individually.
- Excellent verbal communication skills (English) with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders.
