Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated HSSE & FLS Technician to oversee maintenance and inspect fire life safety systems, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and protect lives and property through proactive safety management. This critical role supports JLL’s mission of creating safe, sustainable environments while offering opportunities to develop expertise in fire life safety systems and emergency management.

Compensation: $59,800 - $66,650 annually

Location: On-site at Nashville, TN | Work Shift: Full-time, Monday-Friday (1pm – 9:30pm with flexibility for emergency response and overtime)

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and conduct maintenance checks on fire extinguishers monthly; replace when necessary
  • Run/test fire pumps for proper pressure, water flow, and operational reliability
  • Inspect Mechanical Rooms monthly and maintain accurate records of all inspections and maintenance
  • Conduct visual and functional inspections of fire alarms, sensors, and detection devices
  • Supervise 3rd Party Vendors during installation, repair, and troubleshooting of fire suppression systems
  • Coordinate fire drills and evacuation procedures, provide emergency response assistance, and stay updated with the latest fire life safety regulations and industry standards
  • Inspect emergency eyewash stations, showers, and maintain first aid kits; respond to fire alarms, verify validity, and reset the Fire Alarm Control Panel for false alarms

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to perform inspections, lift equipment, and respond to emergencies
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and record-keeping
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fire extinguisher inspections and fire/life safety management
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
  • Certification in fire life safety systems (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in educational or institutional facilities
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and building operations
