Telecom Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home, 9/80 working schedule – every other Friday off)
Salary: $60-$77/hr

As a Telecoms Engineer, you will perform field investigations, conduct client interviews to define project scope, and develop cost estimates for control systems. You will design, develop, modify, and evaluate ICT-Telecommunications components and processes, providing technical recommendations to resolve complex issues and ensuring all project-specific requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute independent telecommunications engineering work by evaluating, selecting, and adapting engineering techniques and criteria on medium-sized projects in support of a global business unit.
- Support the design, development, modification, and evaluation of telecommunications components and processes using established Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and company standard application programs.
- Communicate complex technical issues and present recommended solutions to upper management.
- Develop conceptual designs for telecommunications engineering projects, including those with specialized or unique requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, staffing plans, and project schedules.
- Interpret new or specialized regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
- Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of telecommunications-related aspects of project work.
- Conduct or lead special studies related to new telecommunications engineering methods, materials, and technologies.
- Participate in specialized technical education and training programs as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) with 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong knowledge of ICT-Telecommunications systems, equipment, applications, design methods, materials, and computer tools used for analysis and development of project design deliverables
- Understanding of technical and cost considerations influencing design feature selection within the ICT-Telecommunications discipline
- Experience developing ICT-Telecommunications network topology, DAS, data center infrastructure, OSI model implementation, rack design, and horizontal distribution systems
Preferred Qualifications
- RCDD certification preferred
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as CAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office is desirable
