Position Overview

Equipment Management Service and Repair – EMSAR, headquartered in Wilmington, Ohio, is a fast-growing national technical services company providing maintenance, repair and installation services to OEMs in Healthcare, Laboratory, Self-Service Kiosk, Midmark and EMS. EMSAR’s customer-centric model customizes and delivers the highest quality solutions to its blue-chip and emerging client base. Our services include on-site technical field support including maintenance & repair, installation, and training & education. We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to deliver the best solutions to our customers by performing repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of biomedical equipment/devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and repair of general, specialized and/or high-tech medical equipment and systems.
  • Utilize required test equipment and electronics with working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Interpret and effectively use service manuals, schematics and other service information in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Occasionally work on non-medical devices such as Rapiscan, Gatekeeper, Evolv, and Higi.
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair designated modalities per established procedures.
  • Read and comprehend prints and schematics; repair and calibrate according to company specifications.
  • Triage work orders and establish priorities to meet contractual commitments.
  • Maintain spare part stock independently and interact with internal and external customers.
  • Submit timely and accurate service reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
  • Demonstrate initiative and manage work autonomously to satisfy customer needs.
  • Be flexible for occasional nationwide overnight and weekend travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Biomed certification/degree or completion of DoD Biomedical Equipment Repair School or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing cooperative working relationships.
  • Experience exercising expert judgment in complex repair, maintenance, and calibration of scientific equipment.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of electronic equipment operation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with color code conventions used in component and wiring marking.
  • Ability to analyze, repair, and test electronic equipment effectively.
