Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering, construction, and design assignments, exercising professional judgment within one engineering discipline.
  • Handle projects of minor complexity and potentially lead less experienced staff.
  • Work under close supervision while supporting more experienced personnel.
  • Conduct field testing of soils, concrete, water, sewer mains, and manholes.
  • Document all project activities and quantities clearly and concisely.
  • Perform analyses and design for minor structures, systems, and equipment.
  • Prepare sketches, diagrams, review detailed drawings, and layouts.
  • Assist in prepping reports, feasibility studies, contract specifications, proposals, and cost estimates.
  • Review contractor shop drawing submittals and coordinate field activities during construction monitoring.
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Plan while performing all tasks safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • At least one relevant internship in Transportation, Water, Structural, Construction Services, Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification, or the ability to obtain within one year.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to safely traverse construction and project sites in compliance with all applicable safety codes.
