Position Overview
The United Nations Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) department provides an internship opportunity for those applicants who want to pursue an internship with the UN. This position is for coordination of access to electronic information resources in the economic and social field.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing meetings, events, and seminars, and conducting research and interviews.
- Providing news, stories for the UN DESA's website and the external online newsletter UN DESA Voice.
- Supporting UN DESA's social media management.
- Providing online and offline promotion such as outreach platforms, digital assets, and design support.
- Providing strategic research advice for developing and using new social media tools for attracting new followers.
- Translating UN DESA's stories and news published on the website to other UN languages.
- Assisting in ad-hoc requests and projects related to internal and external communication efforts of SPCS.
- Providing multimedia content for the DESA website and using the content management system WordPress.
Required Qualifications
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to behave patiently with customers.
- High interest and commitment to work with the UN.
- Ability to deal with people from different cultures, beliefs, and views.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Good computer skills in standard software applications.
- English language proficiency.
