Position Overview

This is a Non-Exempt role supporting the University of Texas System's information security initiatives. The successful candidate will assist with cybersecurity-related communications, marketing campaigns, training content development, and event coordination.

Salary: $27.50/hour
Schedule: 19.50 hours per week
Start Date: Immediately

Purpose of this position is to provide creative, detail-oriented support in cybersecurity communications and event projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity Communications & Marketing Support – Create and edit content for newsletters, websites, social media, and training materials focused on cybersecurity awareness; design marketing materials including flyers, posters, and digital graphics.
  • Event Coordination Support – Assist with planning and logistics for cybersecurity conferences and departmental events (both virtual and in-person), including managing registration lists, preparing presentation materials, coordinating with vendors, and providing on-site or virtual event support.
  • Training & Awareness Support – Organize and distribute cybersecurity awareness materials, assist with scheduling and tracking training sessions, and support phishing simulation campaigns with subsequent reporting.
  • General Project Assistance – Maintain SharePoint and Teams sites with updated content and provide overall support for communications and event projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Completion of at least 30 credit hours of higher education or one year of related experience in lieu of 30 credit hours.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree is preferred.
  • Experience with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Interest in cybersecurity and technology.
  • Event planning or coordination experience.
