Business Analyst - Advanced Analytics at Liberty Mutual Boston, MA

Position Overview

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Business Analyst - Advanced Analytics to join its GRS North America Claims Strategic Planning & Analytics team in support of the Workers' Compensation organization. In this role, you will develop insights and key performance indicators through descriptive analytics and data visualization (often using Power BI) to guide business decisions.Compensationis determined by multiple factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location, with competitive salary ranges and potential performance-based bonuses. This is a remote position; however, candidates located within 50 miles of Boston, MA are expected to work onsite twice a month.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze internal claims data, industry trends, and medical regulation information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics and data visualization tools.
• Perform complex research and analysis using various tools (SAS, Denodo, Power BI) on operational data, metrics, competitor information, and business partner feedback.
• Monitor and report on trends in a suite of KPIs, collaborating with stakeholders to identify root causes of shifts and propose corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships by creating tailored analyses and becoming a subject matter expert on their data needs.
• Participate in a culture of continuous improvement by sharing new findings, tools, and insights while addressing challenges collaboratively.
• Tailor data stories for diverse audiences, ensuring the information presented is relevant and actionable.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated research, problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of business operations, including value chain dynamics and market conditions.
• Ability to support change and add tangible value within an organization.
• Proven project management skills, supported by advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Working knowledge of database software and data source evaluation.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus 2+ years of relevant business analysis experience.
