This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of cross-functional security initiatives and maturing our project management capabilities. To excel, the position requires a person:

  • Who is a passionate and experienced leader, capable of achieving complex objectives by motivating and managing others.
  • Who can effectively collaborate and align with senior leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Who will embrace the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio, from tactical execution to strategic, board-visible initiatives.
  • Who demonstrates a solution-oriented mindset, critical thinking, and the ability to innovate creative solutions that balance business and security needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3 project managers, fostering their growth and ensuring efficient assignment of responsibilities.
  • Drive the execution of our cybersecurity strategy by managing the full lifecycle of cyber initiatives, ensuring timely completion and operational excellence.
  • Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders in IT, Go-to-Market (GTM), and other business units to manage collaborative projects and ensure PMO alignment.
  • Develop and deliver regular, insightful reporting on project status, progress, and roadblocks to senior leadership and support quarterly board-level updates.
  • Standardize and continually improve our project management processes and tools (primarily Jira), with an opportunity to leverage advanced reporting tools like Tableau and AI.
  • Manage our high-profile security uplift program, a cross-organizational effort to materially improve our security posture across multiple dimensions.

The Path to Success (Milestones):

1-Month Milestones (The "Learning" Phase):

  • Integrate with the cyber leadership team and the PMO team.
  • Meet with key stakeholders across collaborating business units (e.g., IT) to understand their roles and ongoing projects.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the current project portfolio, with a deep dive into the objectives and status of current projects.
  • Gain an understanding of cybersecurity project management processes and tooling.

3-Month Milestones (The "Contribution" Phase):

  • Take full ownership of the PMO's project portfolio, independently managing day-to-day operations and reporting cadences.
  • Present an initial plan to leadership for standardizing PMO practices and establishing a framework for cyber-wide performance metrics.
  • Be fully ramped on core tools (Jira) and demonstrate improvements in project tracking and leadership reporting.

6-Month Milestones (The "Performance" Phase):

  • Demonstrate measurable progress on current projects, successfully delivering on key milestones and managing cross-organizational dependencies.
  • Implement initial improvements to PMO processes, leading to increased efficiency and visibility across the project portfolio.
  • Begin rolling out the initial framework for the cyber-wide performance metrics and monitoring capabilities you designed.
  • Begin driving cybersecurity-wide roadmap development in alignment with the CISO's strategic goals.

12-Month Milestones (The "Impact" Phase):

  • Establish a repeatable "cradle to grave" process for strategic initiatives, from strategy to task.
  • Deliver consistent reporting on cybersecurity performance metrics.
  • Identify and implement areas for process optimization and improved efficiency.
