Zero-Max is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing CNC Process Engineer. In this role, you will develop, optimize, and improve machining processes and manufacturing capabilities for efficient fabrication of machined parts, assemblies, and finished products while monitoring production efficiencies and upholding production standards. Location: Plymouth, MN
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve existing machining processes to reduce waste, decrease downtime, and boost productivity.
- Create manufacturing estimates for sale proposals based on engineering documentation.
- Develop machining processes for new products, including determining operation sequences, calculating ideal feed and speed rates, and designing fixturing and tooling.
- Participate in new product development, research emerging materials and technologies, and assist in product enhancements and expansions.
- Review engineering design documentation for manufacturability, assembly, and quality (DFMA/DFQ).
- Solicit feedback from engineers, machine operators, and assemblers to continuously improve manufacturing methods.
- Support manufacturing in expanding in-house fabrication capabilities and in the acquisition and deployment of new tools and equipment.
- Analyze, resolve, and assist operators in solving manufacturing problems.

Required Qualifications
- Education: 7+ years of machine shop experience in a precision environment and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in CNC milling and turning operations.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and a solid understanding of machining principles with knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Requirements: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, safety rules, and operating/maintenance instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills with customers, employees, and management.
- Proficiency with mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in situations where standardization is limited.
- Capacity to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming, setting up, and/or operating precision machinery.
- Ability to program CNC equipment and develop CNC programs.
- General knowledge of mechanics and the latest machining technologies.
- Strong scheduling and planning capabilities.
- Experience with manufacturing methods and procedures, including quality and product development.
- Experience presenting technical information, with familiarity in Epicor ERP considered a plus.
