We are looking for a Merchandising Operations Manager who will oversee the operational execution of our Pet Care Center, embodying Petco's vision: "Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World." You will play a vital role in ensuring effective merchandising and inventory management while training and developing a high-performing team to drive sales growth and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage business acumen to analyze trends and implement strategies that drive improvement.
- Support inventory management practices, including shrink reduction, receiving, and recalls through teamwork and training.
- Implement merchandising standards related to pricing, displays, and promotional setups, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Create exceptional customer experiences during register transactions and assist with guest interactions as needed.
- Drive the execution of Omni Channel initiatives, enhancing guest experiences across various platforms.
- Oversee the health and welfare of all animals in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, maintaining a clean and healthy environment for all.
- Train and develop partners in stocking procedures, food rotation, and other operational standards.
- Ensure effective communication and partnership with team members to maintain operational excellence and compliance.
- Lead as the point of contact for guest experience and store operations during shifts.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture among team members.
- Model inspiring leadership by setting a positive example and motivating the team to achieve shared goals.
- Prioritize safety by upholding Petco's safety standards and ensuring a secure environment for partners, guests, and pets.
- Encourage innovative ideas to improve efficiency and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Oversee operations specialists to ensure exemplary service in the Pet Care Center.
- Collaborate with leadership to optimize attendance processes and overall operational standards.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of management experience required; 2 years preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to deliver exceptional guest service and effectively instruct others.
