Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis, and construction of onshore and offshore structures such as modular buildings, equipment support frames, and other mobile structures. Work under senior engineers and managers to ensure designs meet project goals and comply with industry codes and standards. Location: Houston, TX 77044.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with structural analysis: lifting, transportation, in-place, dynamic, fatigue, blast, and connection design
- Support QA/QC of calculations and drawings to meet safety, code, and project requirements
- Prepare structural calculations and reports for client/state approvals
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants
- Contribute to foundation design: slabs, anchor bolts, base plates
- Participate in technical meetings and maintain project documentation
- Provide material estimates for project bids
- Learn and assist in specialized areas (e.g., blast resistance, thermal analysis)
- Respond to RFIs and review submittals
- Understand IFA and IFC documentation requirements
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Familiar with or willing to learn AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, ABAQUS, MS Office
- Basic knowledge of AISC, ASCE, IBC, AWS codes
- Strong awareness of safety in engineering/fabrication environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience Required: At least 2+ years of related experience preferred (Master's may count for 1 year)
- Requirements: E.I.T. preferred but not required
