Position Overview

In this senior Lead Technical role, you will join our Power Delivery & Renewable team to contribute hands-on substation electrical engineering, project management, and business development efforts. You will work closely with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive projects that adhere to all applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the Substation Electrical team working with the Power Delivery & Renewables Leader and Manager of the Substation Electrical group, ensuring resource planning and quality reviews.
  • Support, develop, and deliver projects for utilities and developers from conceptual layout to detailed design and construction support.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, system planning, SCADA/telecommunications, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue For Construction design packages and perform quality assurance on engineering studies.
  • Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead to support client services, account and department growth, and business development.
  • Mentor junior team members by conducting quality assurance/quality control on the work of electrical engineers, designers, or technicians, and participate in client, contractor, and vendor meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Power Delivery & Renewables Leader to develop client development plans, resource planning, strategy for winning projects, quality control improvements, and financial performance monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in substation design including physical layouts, bus configurations, cable and conduit design, grounding, and all aspects of HV and EHV substation engineering for utility-scale, developer, and/or large industrial facilities.
  • Experience in Power Delivery Substation Electrical consultancy with an understanding of power delivery, generation, and renewables business.
  • PE License
  • Proficient in engineering software such as SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, CDEGS, and WinIGS, with design experience adhering to the National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, IEEE standards, and local codes.

  • Compensation: $122478 - $242107 (actual salary will vary based on several factors including experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location)
