Position Overview

DevCollaborative is seeking a Technical Project Manager with experience in an agency environment, working on Drupal or WordPress website development for nonprofit organizations. You will oversee diverse projects by managing scope, budgets, and schedules while serving as the main client-facing contact—all in a 100% remote work setting. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main internal and external (client-facing) contact during the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the project team to define requirements, translate them into technical features, and prioritize functionality.
  • Manage projects to their agreed-upon scope, budget, and schedule; review time entries and monitor progress.
  • Produce essential documentation including scopes of work, project plans, meeting notes, testing and launch plans.
  • Oversee Helpdesk operations: triage requests, test developments, coordinate launches, and provide troubleshooting support.

Required Qualifications

  • Dedicated Project Manager experience on multiple CMS-based (Drupal/WordPress) website projects, managing budgets, schedules, and development work.
  • Proven experience working in a web agency or consultancy setting.
  • Understanding of nonprofit culture and its distinct qualities.
  • Deep knowledge of the budget-schedule-scope project management triangle for web projects.
  • Technical understanding of website building, including possible background as a sitebuilder or content editor.
  • Solid grasp of web development concepts and current industry best practices.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in clear, kind language to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in remote environments (Zoom, Slack, email, etc.).
  • Experience using online project management tools, including task managers and Gantt charts.
  • Self-directed, independent worker with strong time management in a virtual team setup.
  • Commitment to a healthy work/life balance with a choice of a 30- or 35-hour work week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or with the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience managing teams of three or more on large projects from start to finish.
  • Experience managing a Helpdesk or customer support environment.
  • Interest in and basic understanding of web accessibility standards.
  • Sitebuilding capabilities in WordPress and/or Drupal.
  • Interest in website user experience, usability, and testing processes across multiple environments.

Benefits & Perks

  • Opportunity to work on meaningful projects with a positive social impact.
  • 30-to 35-hour work week with flexible scheduling based on your preference.
  • Annual salary: $60,000-$85,000 based on experience and desired work week.
  • Generous time off policy including 1 week of sick time, 2 weeks of vacation, and 2 weeks of holidays annually (with vacation time increasing with tenure).
  • 401(k) plan.
  • On-the-job mentoring and a culture that supports healthy work/life boundaries.
  • Please note: Health insurance benefits are not offered at this time.
