Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating and maintaining aviation lab equipment and facilities.
  • Develop tools and resources to support the diverse student population.
  • Adjust work days and hours based on department needs.
  • Comply with pre‐employment requirements including submission of official transcripts, TB exam certification, fingerprint clearance, and employment eligibility verification.

Required Qualifications

  • For applicants with a foreign degree, an evaluation by a recognized credential evaluation service is required.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within higher education.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective instructional support tools.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary: $5,474.31 - $6,069.47 per month (new employees begin on Step I at $5,474.31)
  • Compensation: Position is FLSA Non-exempt with terms defined by the collective bargaining agreement; salary negotiation is not allowed.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, vision, sick leave, vacation, and professional development opportunities. Contract employees are eligible for membership in CalPERS.
  • Location: San Diego Miramar College, located in the Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch area of San Diego.
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (hours may vary based on departmental needs).
  • Experience Required: Prior experience in a technical or instructional lab support role is preferred.
