Position Overview
YMX Logistics is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Logistics / Operations Supervisor to join our team in Stockton, CA. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to solve problems quickly. This role focuses on supporting multiple locations and requires adept multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations related to trailer shuttling between locations and manage schedules for trailer pickups, drop-offs, and storage to optimize workflow.
- Fleet Management: Monitor trailer conditions and equipment availability; schedule maintenance and repairs to ensure safety and compliance.
- Staff Supervision: Lead, manage, and develop a team of drivers and operational staff by scheduling shifts, coordinating staffing, and evaluating performance.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure operations adhere to safety, environmental, and legal standards through audits, meetings, and training sessions.
- Logistics and Planning: Coordinate logistics processes to position trailers efficiently and develop strategic plans to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Customer Service: Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, addressing issues and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
- Cost Control: Monitor and manage operational costs including fuel, maintenance, and labor; implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and maintenance schedules, and prepare performance reports for senior management.
- Emergency Handling: Prepare for and respond to emergencies affecting logistics operations, including accidents and urgent repairs.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Keep precise records of maintenance activities and ensure documentation complies with regulatory requirements.
- Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Track driver productivity and implement enhancement measures while recognizing outstanding performance.
- Communication: Maintain open channels across departments to address operational issues and coordinate activities effectively.
