Position Overview

In this full-time role based at our new Plymouth Bass Lake Campus, the Operating Room Nurse will scrub and circulate for all orthopedic cases at the Surgery Center. This pivotal role requires expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques to support physicians in performing invasive procedures.

Eligible for a $12,000 Sign On Bonus (amount pro-rated based on assigned FTE). The schedule includes 10-hour shifts Monday – Friday, with a rotating schedule: Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri; Week 2: Tue – Fri. Flexibility to float to other Summit surgery centers is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, interpret, record, and communicate pertinent data to promote safe surgical outcomes for patients. Data is concurrently assessed for optimal patient care and planned discharge.
• Follow established guidelines for providing safe nursing care.
• Organize equipment and monitoring devices needed for patient assessment.
• Utilize available resources and external staff (e.g., physician’s assistants, MRI/radiology, anesthesia) as needed.
• Revise the plan of care as needed to accommodate each patient’s specific needs.
• Communicate the plan of care to the surgical center staff.
• Provide direct care to patients, addressing both their physiological and psychological needs.
• Continuously evaluate patients’ responses to nursing and surgical interventions, modifying the plan of care for optimal outcomes.
