PHLEBOTOMIST - SUMMERLIN HOSPITAL (FULL-TIME)

Position Overview

The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network that serves more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Starting with Valley Hospital Medical Center in 1979, the organization now includes Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Henderson Hospital, Valley Health Specialty Hospital, and West Henderson Hospital. Performs venipunctures and other patient specimen collections; has thorough knowledge of testing and collection requirements, and requires moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and patient specimen collections.
• Ensure adherence to testing and collection protocols.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; acceptable phlebotomy training program.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care analyst license may be substituted for certification). Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Advanced EMT, and Licensed Paramedic are also accepted. If national certification, then Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care Analyst licensure with the State of Nevada is required within 6 months of hire.
• Prefer previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, emergency room technician, LPN, or paramedic with phlebotomy skill set.
