Job Description
Position Overview
The Faculty, Graphic Design position at Austin Community College is responsible for preparing and delivering innovative coursework in Graphic and Visual Design. The role supports a multicultural student population using traditional, face-to-face, and distance learning modalities, and is an integral part of a dynamic Visual Communication Department committed to workforce education and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach courses in Graphic and Visual Design using a variety of engaging instructional strategies.
- Participate in departmental governance including curriculum review, program assessment, and other academic activities.
- Evaluate student progress, provide timely feedback, and serve as a mentor to support student success.
- Utilize online learning management systems and industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to collegial decision-making and planning.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field accompanied by 3 years of non-teaching, industry-relevant work experience.
- Three years of non-teaching work experience in the design industry, including direct design studio and client experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field with 3 years of non-teaching industry-relevant work experience.
