Position Overview
Ally is hiring a Senior Data Analyst based in United States – Detroit, MI with Hybrid ways of working. This role is hybrid in office/partially remote. The Senior Risk Analyst – Auto Credit Analytics is responsible for executing quantitative analysis to identify, measure, and communicate credit risk. Leveraging business, technical, and analytical skills, this role evaluates evolving auto credit risk, enhances transparency into portfolio performance, and contributes to Independent Risk Management by providing an objective, critical assessment of risks to ensure alignment with Ally’s risk appetite and risk limits.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate reporting and analytical findings in a concise and focused manner.
- Work with and manage large datasets by executing and maintaining routine reporting processes, developing repeatable reporting methods, and performing in-depth analysis of credit risk across the Auto portfolio.
- Review and challenge material estimates and processes related to loss forecasting, ALLL, stress tests, credit risk ratings, and compliance with enterprise policies.
- Maintain, improve, and evolve the suite of managerial reporting.
- Independently identify, assess, monitor, and escalate risks across the enterprise.
- Leverage both current and new tools to provide meaningful data insights, robust reporting, and enhanced portfolio surveillance.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and manage independent projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Business-Related fields); Graduate Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, credit evaluation, management reporting, or risk assessment within the financial services industry, preferably automotive lending.
- Strong technical and data skills – SQL experience required; SAS, Python, or R experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with PowerBI or Tableau preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and proactively.
- Ability to translate analysis and modeling results into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
