Position Overview

The Research & Development Quality Engineer Intern position in Connected Car Engineering at Subaru of America, Inc. offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and nationally impactful environment. As part of Subaru’s Internship Program, you will work on meaningful projects—such as vehicle software evaluations and project tracking—while collaborating with professionals to enhance your technical and analytical skills.

Term: Summer Program • 10-12 weeks (Mondays through Fridays; 37.5 hours per week). Internship begins Monday, June 1, 2026, at NASI - 50255 Michigan Ave, Van Buren Township, MI 48111.

Compensation: $20 an hour (undergrad).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in vehicle software evaluations.
  • Identify applicable vehicle models and software generations.
  • Coordinate with Subaru Corporate Vehicles and NASI vehicle management teams to procure vehicles for evaluation.
  • Pull log data from vehicles and track update status, including maintaining a list of reported issues.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests for compiling data into presentation materials for meetings.
  • Enter bug tickets for supplier review.
  • Help maintain project tracking boards and support evaluation and feature additions using the automation test bench.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Management Information Sciences.
  • Current Juniors or Seniors planning to pursue a Master's Degree, or students already enrolled in a Master's Program.
  • Must be an active student for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Previous internship or work experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and operate the vehicle's infotainment system.
