Job Description

Position Overview

Amant is a nonprofit arts organization located in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, with a satellite residency campus in Siena, Italy. We provide a platform for international contemporary artists across disciplines through exhibitions, public programs, residencies, and publishing initiatives. Our campus—free and open to the public—includes exhibition galleries, a bookstore, a café (Kis), a garden, and a performance space. We’re seeking a Social Media Manager to lead the day-to-day planning, content creation, and execution of our digital presence across three interlinked entities: Amant’s contemporary art programming, Kis Café, and a new restaurant opening at the end of 2025. Reporting to the Senior Design and Communications Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to shape how Amant’s voice, vision, and values are experienced online—merging art, food, architecture, and public programming into one cohesive and compelling digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Content Creation: Lead and implement Amant’s social media strategy across all three entities (arts, café, restaurant), maintaining a unified visual identity and voice; develop and maintain the monthly content calendar; work closely with the Curatorial and Communications teams; and integrate social media rollouts with exhibition communications timelines.
  • Content Creation & Execution: Produce and schedule daily content on Instagram, with occasional support for other platforms and the website; design, produce, and schedule feed posts, stories, reels, and story highlights; manage visual consistency in line with Amant’s brand standards; and coordinate digital materials for each exhibition.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Attend and help shape weekly Curatorial/Communications meetings; liaise with the café and restaurant teams to promote menus, events, and announcements; coordinate with external photographers for digital image needs; and contribute to the production timeline for digital exhibition materials.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor the performance of posts, stories, and RSVP links; track trends and report quarterly on engagement metrics, reach, and audience growth; adapt strategy based on content performance and follower behavior; and maintain refined processes for tracking RSVP behavior across platforms.
  • Community Engagement: Actively engage with the art and cultural communities online by interacting with artists, institutions, and collaborators; respond to DMs and comments in a clear and helpful tone; and cross-promote content from resident/exhibiting artists, alumni, and partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Have 3–5 years of experience in social media management, preferably in the arts, culture, galleries, or museums, with bonus experience in the hospitality sector.
  • Fluency in Instagram’s publishing tools and engagement strategies, and proficiency with Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong sense for tone and visual storytelling.
  • Highly organized, deadline-conscious, and comfortable managing multiple timelines simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple identities under a shared institutional umbrella.
  • Willingness to cover weekend and evening events as needed.
  • Experience with tools such as Trello, Google Analytics, Meta Analytics, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, and various CMS platforms.
