Position Overview

As search transforms from traditional queries to AI-generated answers, we're seeking an innovative Search & Discovery Manager to lead the charge. This role is for a forward-thinking search leader who thrives at the intersection of organic visibility, structured data, and artificial intelligence. You'll shape a strategy that goes beyond traditional search—driving visibility across AI-powered engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, while also activating brand presence in the places where LLMs learn: Reddit, Quora, YouTube, and other trusted open platforms. This is more than SEO. It's reimagining how people discover truth in a world shaped by AI.

Salary: $77,700.00 to $104,500.00 per year
Schedule: FULL_TIME

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve Blackbaud's search & discovery strategy across web content, blogs, product pages, and knowledge hubs - with a focus on AI-powered discovery.
  • Extend organic visibility strategy to platforms that influence LLM training and responses, including Reddit, Quora, YouTube, LinkedIn and other public forums.
  • Use generative AI tools and SEO platforms for keyword discovery, content optimization, and performance analysis.
  • Optimize content for SERP visibility, featured snippets, and emerging answer engine platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini).
  • Develop frameworks for schema markup, structured data, and content alignment with AI model preferences.
  • Collaborate with content, product marketing, brand, and web teams to create strategic SEO/GEO roadmaps and content action plans for prioritized terms and prompts to scale search visibility and improve traffic quality.
  • Stay ahead of evolving trends in AI search and apply insights to strategy and execution.
  • Build performance dashboards and connect SEO/AEO efforts to measurable business outcomes, including pipeline and revenue impact.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading SEO in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Deep understanding of on-page SEO, technical SEO, and content optimization strategies.
  • Familiarity with AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) principles and structured data best practices.
  • Experience managing or contributing to content visibility on platforms like Reddit, Quora, YouTube, and other LLM-relevant ecosystems.
  • Proficient with tools like Semrush, Ahrefs, Clearscope, Screaming Frog, and generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity).
  • Demonstrated ability to grow organic traffic and improve search rankings at scale.
  • Strong analytical and experimentation mindset with a focus on ROI and business alignment.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional marketing and product teams.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, adapting, and leading in an evolving AI-driven search ecosystem.
