Job Description

Position Overview

IRYS Technologies, in partnership with DTSI, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Temporary Junior Developer to support our development team on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will assist in coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications under the guidance of senior staff. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain practical experience in a collaborative software development environment.

Location: San Antonio, TX / Remote Hybrid.

Duration:

3 Months (with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs).

Clearance Requirement:

Secret Clearance Preferred (or ability to obtain).
Schedule: Part-Time (less than 30 hours per week).

Reports To:

Chief Technology Officer & Lead Systems Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code under supervision.
  • Assist with software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement project requirements.
  • Update technical documentation as needed.
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of applications.
  • Perform other development-related tasks as assigned by the project lead.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in or completion of a technical program preferred.
  • Basic understanding and familiarity with programming languages.
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Eagerness to learn complex systems and contribute to innovative projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance (due to potential government contracts).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Some prior internship, coursework, or project experience in software development.
