Position Overview
As the Warehouse Safety & Hazmat Supervisor at GEODIS, you play a critical role in reducing workplace accidents by overseeing safety and hazmat training and ensuring regulatory compliance. In this role, you will coordinate training sessions for management and hourly teams, support the Corporate EHS team, and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Key Responsibilities
- Reduce job-related accidents and injuries.
- Ensure employees are trained in proper safety and hazmat protocols per regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and conduct classroom training for management and hourly teams, including “powered industrial truck,” hazmat, and behavioral safety training.
- Oversee and develop PIT, BST, and hazmat trainers with corporate support.
- Assist the Safety Committee and Master Trainer Chair with meetings and follow-up as needed.
- Partner with the Corporate EHS team to ensure compliance and drive performance.
- Develop and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly safety topics as required.
- Implement changes to training documentation, signage, and 5S projects.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FAA, and OSHA regulations and prepare for unannounced regulatory visits.
- Conduct weekly and monthly compliance audits.
- Promote and support employee participation in annual Safety Week and Top Gun events.
- Manage employee safety and hazmat documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with warehouse equipment.
- Working knowledge of CFR 29 (OSHA) and CFR 49 (DOT) regulations.
- Understanding of the storage, handling, and shipping of hazardous materials and NFPA regulations related to flammable liquids and corrosives.
- PC literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions, develop training materials, and deliver presentations.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.
