Systems Engineer III (Government)

Position Overview

AT&T is seeking a System Engineer III to support the design, development, and integration of complex computer operating and hardware systems for federal customers. The role spans the full systems engineering lifecycle – from requirements definition and architecture design to system implementation and testing – and requires on‐site presence 5 days a week at the customer’s location in San Diego, California. This position does not offer relocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of computer operating/hardware systems engineering including design, analysis, and modeling at a highly technical level
• Analyze complex computer software/hardware requirements to provide integration and implementation support
• Perform operating/hardware systems engineering including full lifecycle design and development; analyze and document users’ functional and data requirements
• Develop site survey instruments to gather detailed user requirements and business process analysis data
• Conduct functional user interviews to document system, customization, and data requirements and data sources
• Formulate system concepts and architecture, specify requirements, and develop implementation approaches
• Determine data requirements for internal processes and external interfaces
• Develop new systems or tailor commercial products to meet user requirements
• Direct and coordinate activities necessary to complete major engineering projects or several small projects to specification and on schedule
• Serve as task or project lead, providing technical leadership, training, and enforcing established standards and technologies

Required Qualifications

• TS/SCI or Secret clearance (#tssci, #secret)
• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of professional experience in systems engineering
• Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases of systems engineering, application, and development

Compensation

Our System Engineer III's earn between $118,700 - $276,600. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
