Position Overview
On-Site Health & Safety is seeking individuals interested in exploring the field of occupational health and safety. This non-emergency, paid, training-provided internship is designed as a career pathway into Field Technician and occupational health & safety roles. Our corporate-sponsored program will pay you to attend our Entry Level Field Technician Education and Training Program. Successful candidates will complete the program in 3 phases – each requiring graduation from the respective course with a passing score on a pass/fail scale. The internship is divided into the following phases: Emergency Medical Responder Course (57-hour in-person class with 2 observation Ride-A-Longs), Field Technician Basic Course (40-hour hybrid online and in-person course with a 40-hour Ride-A-Long program), and a Development Course (80 days of independent operation under continuous observation, with the potential for a Mobile Field Technician job offer upon successful completion).
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the Emergency Medical Responder Course: Attend a 57-hour in-person class and complete 2 observation Ride-A-Longs.
- Complete the Field Technician Basic Course: Attend a 40-hour hybrid online and in-person course and participate in a 40-hour Ride-A-Long program with grading and observation.
- Complete the Development Course: Operate independently for 80 days under ongoing performance observation, leading to a potential Mobile Field Technician job offer.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must commit to a paid 2-week Rapid Sequence EMR Course in Southern California.
- Must commit to a graded 90-day paid internship, including a 2-week in-house occupational health and safety course followed by an 80-day development plan.
- Must have at least a 3-5 year driving history or documented evidence from certified defensive driving training.
- Must have no severe driving record (e.g., aggressive driving, DUIs, or excessive moving violations).
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain compliance with job-specific drug testing requirements.
- Must be able to articulate instructions clearly.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs for extended periods.
- Must be willing and able to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods and long distances.
- Subject to an extensive background check, including a motor vehicle driver’s license check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Immunization against hepatitis B is recommended.
