Job Description
Position Overview
This position will serve as a primary point of contact and information source for school counselors, students and families regarding INvestEd’s financial aid literacy services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to present to large groups and assist with the tasks associated with administering and conducting these events in communities across Indiana. Teaching Hoosiers how best to fund education with the least debt is a core component of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Present to groups, teaching attendees about funding education wisely
- Provide information about INvestEd’s financial aid literacy services via email, telephone and in person
- Assist in contacting high schools and responding to school and family questions
- Provide information to Indiana students and families in communities across the state
- Attend conferences and other school events
- Assist in executing marketing strategies aimed at increasing post-secondary enrollment while limiting debt
- Participate in the creation of educational presentations
- Help maintain and grow the marketing database for school contacts and related opportunities
- Promote our free, expert help for all families at conferences and school events
- Assist in implementing public relations programs, events, and conferences
- Conduct customer surveys regarding organization services
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university
- Computer skills: Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Valid Indiana Driver's License
- Ability to travel extensively in Indiana (averaging 1–2 evenings per week)
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends and evenings
- Strong oral and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a financial aid office or teaching environment (beneficial)
- Knowledge of financial aid processes and forms (beneficial)
- At least 2 years of public speaking or teaching experience (Preferred)
