Job Description

Position Overview

Join the University of Texas at Austin as a Senior Auditor in the Office of Internal Audits. You’ll work for an internationally recognized university where your audits and evaluations make a significant impact on the institution’s financial and operational integrity. This full-time position (40 hours weekly, Exempt) is expected to continue, with animmediate startand a competitiveSalary Range: $80,000 - $90,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct engagements, including risk analysis, audit program development, and data collection.
  • Prepare thorough, well-organized work papers and draft audit findings with actionable recommendations.
  • Coordinate and manage audit projects, monitoring deadlines and quality assurance through team review.
  • Engage with audit clients by communicating project status and leading entrance and exit conferences.
  • Develop and edit audit reports, ensuring clarity in findings and supporting documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, computer science or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  • At least three years of progressively responsible experience in internal auditing, information systems auditing, consulting, or related fields.
  • Strong ability to prepare clear audit reports and maintain comprehensive work papers to support findings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education and/or healthcare internal auditing.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques in the audit process.
  • General understanding of Uniform Guidance.
