Our client, a leader in defense technology, is seeking a talented Senior Hardware Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in San Antonio, Texas, US.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of complex electronic hardware for critical systems. You will work on challenging projects requiring a strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, as well as signal integrity and power management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing electronic hardware from concept to production, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Performing circuit analysis, simulation, and component selection to meet performance requirements.
  • Conducting hardware bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production units.
  • Collaborating with firmware and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Developing and executing test plans and validation procedures.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant military and industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting complex hardware issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Documenting designs, test results, and technical specifications.
  • Staying current with emerging hardware technologies and design methodologies.
  • Contributing to design reviews and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Working with manufacturing teams to ensure successful product realization.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in hardware design. Proficiency in schematic capture tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD) and simulation software is required. Experience with high-speed digital design, power supply design, and signal integrity analysis is essential. Familiarity with FPGAs, embedded systems, and relevant defense industry standards is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical.
