Job Description
Position Overview
The Research Payroll Specialist processes and supports payroll for our research teams with a focus on grant-funded payroll compliance, accuracy, and staff support.Compensation Range: $25.85 - $38.78 per hour. This range is based on full-time employment (2080 hours per year) and may vary depending on skills, experience, and other factors. Positions outside Seattle may have different compensation.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison among Finance, Payroll, Business department leaders, Principal Investigators (PIs), and Administrative support personnel to ensure payroll functions adhere to grantor requirements and state/federal regulations.
- Assist with timecard audits, employee status changes, and payroll deduction setup.
- Process grant-related payroll adjustments and corrections while collaborating with research teams to reduce errors.
- Answer ETM questions from leaders and employees, and provide support for special projects and other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of payroll experience using an ERP and time collection system.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in grant-funded payroll.
