Job Description

Position Overview

Sodexo Corporate Services Division is seeking an experienced Facilities / Engineering Operations Manager I to support a Mixing/Distribution Center. The Operations Manager will oversee multiple services including Maintenance (preventative and reactive), HVAC, Electrical, Dock Doors and Locks, Grounds, Fire Life and Safety, and Special Projects. Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Operations, this role serves as the 2nd command on site, managing full-time employees and subcontractors across manufacturing and logistics space. Location: Albany, GA. Relocation assistance is available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, maintains, and manages the operations and reliability of client’s facilities and general infrastructure systems.
  • Oversees the maintenance and operation of both soft and hard services, obtains vendor quotes, and reviews work orders.
  • Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance processes and facility inspection programs.
  • Supervises administrative, technical, and support staff.
  • Monitors the safety and accessibility of client facilities and serves as the point of contact for code compliance issues (e.g., ADA, Fire Life Safety).
  • Updates and maintains an inventory of facilities equipment, including lifecycle and replacement cost information.
  • Oversees external contractors to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and satisfactory work completion.
  • Acts as essential emergency management personnel, available after hours and on a 24/7 on-call basis.
  • Implements and maintains safety and compliance procedures.
  • Ensures that vendors meet performance standards and contractual obligations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple services in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Proven track record of successful Facilities Management leadership with demonstrated results.
  • Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, safety, architectural, landscape, and energy management disciplines.
  • Ability to provide hands-on support, including preventive maintenance and ground watch.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen, including a strong understanding of P&L management.
  • Exceptional customer service, relationship building, and communication skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in management and 3 years in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services.
