Job Description
Position Overview
The Scientific Analyst II at the Asthma & Airway Disease Research Center of the University of Arizona is responsible for performing complex statistical analyses—including modeling of longitudinal data, evaluation of predictive biomarkers, and omics discovery efforts—while integrating molecular and epidemiological data to advance research in respiratory diseases. This role, based on the Main Campus in Tucson, AZ, involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams both domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers to identify hypotheses, coordinate molecular data generation, develop and implement statistical analyses, summarize findings, and contribute to manuscript drafting and grant proposals.
- Integrate research activities within consortia involving multiple epidemiological and clinical cohorts with thousands of participants.
- Synthesize data from diverse respiratory health cohorts and coordinate complex, international biomarker projects.
- Interact with laboratory and data managers to ensure quality control and quality assurance of biological data.
- Lead project management activities related to research studies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience with Stata and/or R, including the use of mixed models to analyze longitudinal data.
- Previous experience with targeted proteomics data and work on pulmonary or other complex phenotypes, epidemiological cohorts, and lung function data.

- Compensation: $59,404-$74,254 salary at 1.0 full-time equivalency with full benefits.
