Position Overview
Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, along with a network of clinics and a 473‐bed academic medical center. We are currently seeking an Office Specialist, Principal to join our Staffing and Scheduling team. This on‑site position requires a .8 FTE (64 hours per two‑week pay period) with 8‑hour shifts that may start as early as 4:00 am or as late as 3:00 pm, including weekdays and every other weekend. Under limited supervision, you will apply technical expertise and independent judgment to prepare specialized departmental documents, work with computerized information systems, manage public service contacts, and provide administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, evaluate, screen, relay, and respond to a broad range of requests for information from the public and staff; explain various requirements, policies, and procedures; and write or revise rules, procedures, and manuals related to departmental policies.
- Process and verify complex information and calculations on forms, documents, and requisitions; assist with the preparation of financial reports and budgets; and monitor day‑to‑day departmental budget transactions involving sensitive fiscal data.
- Input, retrieve, and modify information stored in computerized systems; assist users with system issues; generate reports; and coordinate or deliver training on system usage.
- Write, prepare, and proofread original correspondence, specialized reports, lists, tables, and other departmental documents.
- Work across multiple computer systems and programs, ensuring accurate data transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience Required: Three years of office clerical experience or an approved combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of post-secondary education preferred
- Skilled in overseeing departmental staff efforts and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- Ability to effectively apply quality measurement and improvement tools
- Quick learner of new technologies and proficient in Windows‑based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Capable of prioritizing and executing tasks efficiently
Benefits & Perks
- Salary: $22.69 - $29.37 per hour
