Field Technician Entry Level

Position Overview

Our mission at Safety Solutions, LLC is to ensure the safety of your family by providing exceptional solutions. In this Field Technician Entry Level role, you will provide customer services; perform cleaning, decontamination, portable gas detection monitor calibration; and deliver “Field Level” maintenance and technical repair services. You will work in a variety of settings—from shops/warehouses to customer job sites—and may be required to support field services on a drilling rig.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and man lift equipment.
• Clean, inspect, and deliver company vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Perform pre-trip inspections for vehicles and equipment.
• Deliver various products such as light plants and berms.
• Rig up and rig down stands.
• Assist with ground restraints and man lift restraints.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Provide equipment calibrations.
• Deliver and rig up berms for containment; rig down and return berms to Safety Solutions, LLC.
• Inspect, service, and deliver white shower trailers; rig down, inspect, service, and return them.
• Inspect, service, and deliver cooling trailers; rig down, inspect, service, and return them.
• Complete water transfers.
• Rig down and wash restraints; restock the restraint trailer.
• Wash and patch berms.
• Participate in Ride Alongs:
  • H2S Basic Rig Ups
  • H2S High Risk Rig Ups
  • Basic Rig Inspections
  • Workover/Frac Rig Up and Rig Down
  • H2S Basic Rig Down
  • H2S High Risk Rig Down
• Observe jobs:
  • Hotwork jobs
  • Confined space operations
  • Atmospheric monitoring

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or 2+ years of field level experience in the petrochemical or oil refinery industry.
• Above average mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance with a good driving record (no more than 3 violations in 3 years, no DWI’s within 5 years, and insurable for Safety Solutions, LLC's vehicle insurance).
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites.
• Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Capable of handling multiple variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to correctly wear all forms of breathing apparatus, including those requiring airtight seals.

Training Required

• Certified in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment.
• Able to rig up and use a wide range of safety and rescue equipment (including winches, tripods, retractable lifelines, harnesses, and lanyards).
• Capable of performing Field Level Maintenance on Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), supplied air respirators, escape pack respirators, and other respiratory equipment.
• Experience operating compressed breathing air systems, high-pressure air manifolds, regulators, and airlines.
• Familiarity with electronic safety and communications systems including portable gas monitors, hand-held radios, and confined space systems.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The role requires frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme outdoor weather conditions. You will primarily work in shops/warehouses and at customer job site locations (90–100% of the time), with occasional support on a drilling rig. The position involves heavy lifting (up to 140 lbs frequently, and carrying 40 lbs while climbing stairs), as well as extended periods of standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling. Flexibility in work schedule is required for overtime, holidays, weekends, and extended hours (14 days on and 7 days off).
