Trigyn's direct client has a contract opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst in Baltimore, MD (HYBRID).Note: Only local candidates are preferred, and experience in public sector projects or working on projects within local government agencies is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Migration Leadership: Lead and facilitate data migration efforts from a Cobalt mainframe environment to a modern SaaS platform, ensuring the accuracy, security, and integrity of financial, billing, and tax data.
  • Business Process Analysis: Analyze current financial, billing, and tax processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and propose optimized solutions for integration with the new SaaS solution.
  • Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and document business and technical requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, workflows, and reporting needs.
  • Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work with developers, database administrators, data analysts, and SaaS vendors to design, test, and deploy migration solutions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between departments and the project team to facilitate clear communication, status updates, and alignment of expectations.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute testing strategies including data validation, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-implementation reviews.
  • Change Management: Support change management initiatives by organizing end-user training and documenting new processes to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Demonstrate expertise in local government projects and large-scale data migrations, ensuring process transformation aligns with public sector requirements.
  • Leverage knowledge of COBOL mainframe systems and SaaS solution implementation for financial or billing systems.
  • Apply strong business analysis skills to elicit requirements, create process diagrams, and define data transformation and migration strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of data transformation, ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, data mapping, and SQL queries.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience leading workshops, meetings, and presentations with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Project Management Support: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and experience supporting project delivery milestones and schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Change Management: Experience in implementing change management strategies for technology transitions.
  • Familiarity with SaaS Platforms: Experience with SaaS solutions related to financial and billing systems such as Oracle ERP Cloud, Workday Financials, or comparable platforms.
