2nd Shift Maintenance Technicians; Industrial

Position Overview

Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is recruiting for the 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician (Industrial) position at its Indianapolis facility, where residential and commercial gas furnaces are manufactured. Location: Indianapolis. In this role, you will ensure the efficient operation and reliability of machinery and equipment by modifying, fabricating, setting up, adjusting, and repairing various mechanical systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting industrial machines from start to finish, interpreting blueprints and specifications accurately, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the machines and equipment in efficient operating conditions
• Inspect machines and perform preventive maintenance
• Dismantle, move, and repair industrial machinery and equipment
• Conduct modification, fabrication, and installation of industrial machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning industrial machinery and equipment
• Follow site safety rules and processes as outlined in training and handbook materials

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current journeyman's card for machine repair OR successfully completed a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program for machine repair OR successfully complete (80% or higher) the applicable Industrial Assessment Test
• 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
• Able and willing to join the local union
• Willing and able to complete the Carrier safety programs successfully

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work from defined drawings and specifications
• Understand and use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments
• Demonstrated ability to perform operations involving use of industrial machine tools
• Proficiency in using shop mathematics and handbook formulas
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the entire shift
