Job Description

Position Overview

In this position, you will perform planned maintenance, inspections, and calibrations on a variety of clinical equipment to ensure mechanical and electrical safety and functionality, while supporting medical and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical patient care equipment—including infusion pumps, patient monitors, respiratory devices, beds, defibrillators, and operating room equipment—in compliance with manufacturer specifications and hospital standards.
  • Install new equipment, conduct incoming inspections, and assist senior technicians with complex repairs.
  • Perform inspections, calibrations, performance assurance, and electrical safety tests on biomedical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (TJC, DNV, DOH, CAP) and adhere to internal Medical Equipment Management Plans, OSHA, and ISO/IEC standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records in the CMMS – RenovoLive and communicate equipment status and service timelines clearly to customers and supervisors.
  • Support inventory control by conducting audits, verifying equipment status, and recommending updates to inventory records.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualifications: 3+ years of hands-on experience with clinical biomedical equipment in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with electromechanical and computerized biomedical devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret error codes and use diagnostic software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated accountability, effective communication, financial acumen, integrity, customer service orientation, priority setting, team building, and familiarity with regulatory compliance (TJC, DNV, CAP, DOH).
