Position Overview
Intern - Mechanical Engineering at Oceanit, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Key Responsibilities
- Work on real-world projects such as designing mechanical systems, developing prototypes, improving energy-efficient machines, or enhancing safety equipment for first responders.
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other professionals on projects including product design, optimizing manufacturing processes, developing robotics or automated systems, and testing mechanical performance.
- Conceive and develop your own mechanical engineering project proposal and present it to the Review Committee, demonstrating creativity, technical skills, and practical problem-solving.
- Gain hands-on field experience by collecting performance data, testing prototypes, or assisting with the assembly and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Recent graduate (within the past year) or currently enrolled/accepted in a degree-seeking program at a 2-year or 4-year college/university, or graduate/professional school.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering, Astronomy, Physics, or a related technology field.
- Academic or work experience in mechanical engineering, robotics, manufacturing, or product design.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills with high initiative and experience across various aspects of product development and engineering.
Benefits & Perks
- Compensation: $16-$30/hour (depending on education level and experience).
