Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician plays a key support role within our Manufacturing Engineering team at ETE REMAN – the largest independent aftermarket automatic transmission remanufacturer in the United States, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this hands‐on position you will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to drive continuous improvement, develop clear digital work instructions, perform data‐driven analyses to optimize plant capacity, validate process changes, and support equipment installations. Candidates should be ready to bridge the gap between engineering concepts and the shop floor while maintaining high standards in safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on new product introductions, process improvement projects, and equipment upgrades.
- Develop, maintain, and update digital work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and attribute sheets alongside production and Product Engineering teams.
- Conduct capacity studies and time-motion analyses to identify bottlenecks, calculate cycle times, and recommend resource adjustments.
- Assist with tooling and fixture design verification, equipment qualification, and validation testing.
- Participate in safety and quality audits, document findings, and help implement remediation plans.
- Facilitate communication between engineering, quality, maintenance, and production teams to ensure alignment on process changes and project timelines.
- Support training efforts by delivering clear work instructions and hands-on guidance to operators and technicians.
- Contribute to departmental tasks as needed and help create a positive, respectful work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize workload.
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and proven problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-department teams.
- Ability to handle and organize multiple priorities.
- Self-starter with a "solutions" mindset.
- Ability to promote and live ETE Values on a daily basis; willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering education experience preferred.
