Job Description

Position Overview

If you enjoy travel and variety while utilizing your strong electro-mechanical skills, become an Install Technician! This remote position involves travel throughout the country to provide installation, retrofit, and routine service to power plants and other facilities. You will perform new system installations, modifications to existing systems, startup, repair, and training for sample conditioning systems and instrumentation – while having full-service account ownership for customers in your territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide installation, startup, repair and retrofit services for power and other industries.
  • Field incoming technical service questions from customers and utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to promptly resolve both electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Work cooperatively with the service team, product support, and sales (inside & outside) staff to promote customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize Epicor, HubSpot, and Microsoft Outlook for scheduling, tracking, and updating information.
  • Submit prompt and accurate service and expense reports.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree (electronics or mechanical) is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant field experience working within a power plant environment or similar, with experience in steam and water sampling equipment or industrial refrigeration preferred.
  • Solid electro-mechanical skills, including electrical control, pumping systems, basic water chemistry, refrigeration, and piping (welding, threading).
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID and isometric drawings.
  • Valid driver's license with Motor Vehicle Records review that satisfies company policy.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs on industrial catwalks and stairways while following safe work practices.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written, public speaking, and customer service.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
