Job Description
Position Overview
L3Harris is seeking a Senior Scientist, Electrical Engineering (Job Code: 25277) for its Navigation Solutions (NS) business in Anaheim, CA (IEC). This role requires a hands-on expert in hardware and RF electrical engineering to provide technical leadership across multiple programs. The schedule is 4/10 or 9/80 reg (every other Friday off) and relocation can be provided for those that qualify.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall hands-on technical expertise in Hardware and RF Electrical Engineering for NS programs.
- Be recognized as an internal and external thought leader with deep mastery in hardware, RF electrical, and ASIC design, development, testing, and manufacturing.
- Apply expert hands-on knowledge of low frequency and high frequency (RF) Analog and Digital circuit as well as CCB design.
- Ensure team cohesion and cultivate trust within the Hardware Engineering Organization.
- Communicate effectively within and outside the function to explain and gain support for policies and practices.
- Drive improvements in processes, systems, and solutions.
- Plan and establish goals and objectives for Hardware Engineering impacting both short-term and long-term operational results.
- Lead, direct, coach, and review the work of Hardware Engineering personnel to achieve project objectives within technical, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance under consultative direction.
- Maintain outstanding communication with higher management and employees.
- Collaborate with other business areas to execute programs and foster business development.
- Be on-site in Anaheim, CA with potential travel up to 10% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 15 years of related experience or a Graduate degree with a minimum of 13 years (or a minimum of 19 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
- 20+ years of hands-on experience in RF Electrical Engineering and Signal Processing Design, Development, Test, and Manufacturing for both Defense and Commercial Applications, including developing ASICs.
- 15+ years of experience in designing low and high frequency (RF) Analog and Digital circuits, CCB design, and ASIC architecture including simulation, emulation, power analysis, placement, routing, layout, and timing.
- 15+ years leading senior hardware engineering teams and performing detailed RF hardware engineering to achieve project objectives.
- 15+ years demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal teams and external customers/stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and hold a DoD SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized industry expert in Analog RF Electrical, Radio, and/or ASIC design.
- Experience and understanding of detailed RF receiver designs in military GPS, MGNSS, and other Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) technologies.
- Expert knowledge of hardware design considerations including throughput, power consumption, thermal management, component aging, and packaging.
- Experience with HAM radio is a plus.
- Expertise in troubleshooting detailed hardware board designs in a lab environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) across all levels of personnel.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance is preferred.

- Compensation: In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $200,000 - $300,000. (Note: Final offer may vary based on experience and location.)
