We are seeking a Director, AI / Machine Learning Software Engineer to join our AI HUB team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will lead research initiatives, provide strategic direction on AI architecture, and integrate ML/AI across applications to drive transformative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research initiatives, provide strategic direction on AI architecture and technical expertise, and design approaches for ML and AI products.
- Apply deep knowledge of AI and Machine Learning with practical applications of ML/AI concepts.
- Conduct technical research studies to inform strategic decisions.
- Establish strong relationships with internal teams to develop comprehensive success measurement plans.
- Provide expertise in integrating ML/AI across existing and modified applications.
- Collaborate with leaders and teams to align strategies and data science products with business objectives.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and participate in industry conferences and research initiatives.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of machine learning engineers while contributing to application development objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in STEM engineering or equivalent AI/ML research work experience.
- 8+ years of related experience; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Proven experience with modern ML frameworks in Python, such as Pytorch and Numpy.
- Solid understanding of clean code practices.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas and complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience in designing end-to-end pipelines with MLOps.
- Proficiency with SQL, Spark, Airflow, and designing data pipelines for real-time financial data.
- Experience in AI, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
