Our mission is to provide the finest elemental cooking ingredients and kitchen staples that inspire people to cook, eat, and live well, every day. The Associate Marketing Manager will join JSC’s marketing team to manage and execute the content strategy for all marketing initiatives – including website, email, digital ads, editorial, and social media – with a strong focus on growing the eCommerce channel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to set and execute the content strategy, ensuring alignment with quarterly and evergreen content themes.
  • Manage and execute the editorial content calendar, focusing on digital content via email, social channels, and the website.
  • Develop and manage the annual photoshoot schedule, including direction, budget, and execution for both eCommerce and editorial shoots.
  • Partner with the Digital Content Creator to devise strategies and campaigns for key social channels.
  • Create compelling product launch campaigns encompassing content creation, storytelling, copywriting, editing, design, and execution.
  • Coordinate with external partners to execute product launches, eCommerce initiatives, and other brand initiatives as determined by the Senior Marketing Manager.
  • In collaboration with the PR agency and internal teams, identify and manage key partnership activations from inception to launch, including opportunities for brand campaigns and storytelling.
  • Create and execute weekly DTC email marketing campaigns while managing digital marketing and web agency partners alongside the Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Oversee the development of digital ad assets and lead website updates, ensuring seamless integration from product detail pages to editorial content.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally and with external partners on product launches, brand partnerships, and campaigns, and report on key marketing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of brand marketing experience within a CPG company, ideally with an eCommerce channel.
  • Strong sense of brand thinking and content strategy, with proven experience coordinating photoshoots (video shoots a plus).
  • Skilled in managing external digital marketing partners and writing creative briefs.
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo preferred) and experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma.
  • An excellent writer and storyteller who is highly attuned to maintaining brand voice.
  • Proactive project management skills with strong organization, prioritization, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable handling intermediate computer tasks, including proficiency with Google Suite.
  • A champion of JSC’s ideals of integrity and inclusivity both in the workplace and in the community.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with a positive attitude, coupled with excellent time-management skills.
  • Essential Physical Functions: Must be able to remain stationary at least 50% of the day, operate a computer consistently, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Typical Weekly Schedule: Full-time, exempt position based in Portland, Oregon, offering a hybrid of in-office and remote work during business hours (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday).
  • Reports to: Senior Marketing Manager.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: Starting annual salary range of $55,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience, knowledge, and qualifications.
