Position Overview
The Business Analyst will create test cases, prepare test data, and execute testing on the reports once they are developed. This role is responsible for learning and understanding the location of data elements in the DDS WellSky Case Management, Clinical, and Claiming system. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting-related analyst activities for the EOHHS Healthcare / Case Management / EHR applications that support the case management, clinical, and claiming business units for DDS. Working alongside an existing team of EHS IT Business Analysts, the candidate will create report specification documents for the Advanced Report Writers in the department's new WellSky Case Management, Clinical, and Claiming system production based on stakeholder/user requirements and legacy reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare report specification documentation using the Advanced Reporting Specification document in use by the team. Crosswalk and document field and column names, location of data on screens within the DDS WellSky solution, and security requirements.
- Review existing reports that have been prioritized for development.
- Perform analysis on existing reports to identify opportunities to consolidate similar reports.
- Participate in the preparation and execution of testing plans and/or test criteria.
- Ensure that testing validates the quality, reliability, and completeness of the business services being deployed.
- Identify, communicate, and facilitate resolution of any issues identified during testing; retest as needed to ensure issues are resolved.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working in IT environments creating report specification documentation, analyzing data related to reporting, and creating and executing test cases.
- Experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to understand required report and data security (i.e. user-level, supervisor-level, etc.) and represent security accurately in reporting specifications.
- Hands-on experience effectively using MS Office tools.
- Experience in producing and executing test cases based on report specifications and business rules related to data and security, including identification, tracking, and reporting of issues with subsequent retesting.
- Proven ability in managing escalated issues and dispute resolution, with an understanding of when to escalate issues to senior management.
- Methodical approach with the ability to follow documented procedures and instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic, ever-changing technical environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly interact with diverse user groups and support both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and manage competing demands.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Prior Government or Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.
