Job Description
Position Overview
This role provides operational leadership to individual contributors and an hourly workforce to ensure the smooth execution of daily tasks including driver deliveries, loading/unloading trailers, cross docking, and customer service operations. You will supervise processes such as workforce and equipment scheduling, make corrective and disciplinary decisions (up to written warning), participate in the hiring process, and attend customer meetings. In addition, you will review truck runs and daily orders to identify additional private fleet opportunities.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, day time hours (Hours may vary depending on business needs).
Compensation: $60,400 - $81,400 with bonus eligibility up to 12% of the base salary.
Key Responsibilities
- People: Communicate specific, measurable performance standards; interview hourly associates; monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers; and provide counseling or recognition.
- Operations: Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch, and documentation; recommend work method improvements; assist in new associate training; provide relief coverage; and ensure operational compliance.
- Finance: Ensure compliance with financial policies (inventory accuracy, returns, damages, etc.), understand the link between decision-making and profitability, and manage associates’ working hours to control overtime.
- Safety: Oversee daily associate activities in line with safety strategies, ensure proper communication, training, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Growth / Customer Experience: Understand customer objectives and identify areas for continuous improvement to enhance service quality.
- Fleet/Assets: Plan work assignments to optimize the use of fleet and warehouse equipment while ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- 2 - 4 years of related functional experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent organizational abilities.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- Willingness to travel, work the required schedule, complete the employment application, and pass a background and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
