UX Designer - Remote Opportunity

Position Overview

KinderCare Education is hiring a UX Designer – Remote Opportunity in Portland, OR. At KinderCare Learning Companies, you will use your exceptional design talents to craft digital experiences that support lifelong learners while collaborating with cross‐functional teams. With more than 50 years of leadership in early childhood education and a commitment to progress over perfection, you will be instrumental from discovery through execution – ensuring engaging, accessible, on‐brand designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design user flows, wireframes, UI layouts, and navigation concepts for front-end development.
• Develop and lead usability testing initiatives for UX designs.
• Own and maintain a dynamic design system across the enterprise.
• Engage at every stage of the product lifecycle from discovery to execution, ensuring technical feasibility.
• Fuse creativity, technology, and business acumen to produce accessible, on-brand designs.
• Lead brainstorming and product planning meetings to achieve a seamless customer experience.
• Mentor contracted designers and help them refine their design perspective and skills.
• Stay current on UX trends and evaluate competitor strategies to innovate solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to enhance the customer journey.
• Partner with cross-functional groups including product, development, and marketing teams.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in UX design including wireframes and high-fidelity designs.
• Proven experience with user testing and familiarity with UX/UI best practices.
• Proficient in Figma for creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of CSS basics.
• Experience working with external agencies and digital product teams.
• Comfortable directing and mentoring third-party designers.
• Passion for digital customer experience and creative thought leadership.
• Relevant educational background in UX, UI, or graphic design (advanced degree is a plus).
