Job Description

Position Overview

CPH is a multi-disciplined Engineering and Architectural design firm that ranks in the nation’s Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. Based in Miami, FL, the Professional Engineer – Land Development will be responsible for managing all facets of projects—from business development and client management to project and construction administration. This role requires a full-time, licensed Professional Engineer with strong organizational, supervision, and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfilling requirements as Engineer of Record for the design, permitting, and construction administration of projects.
  • Preparation of accurate presentations, designs, details, and construction documents.
  • Oversight of project design team including engineers, designers, consultants, and clients.
  • Collaboration with firm engineers, architects, project managers, and business development teams.
  • Research, interpretation, and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements.
  • Development and utilization of CPH and client standards and templates.
  • Preparation of specifications, review of shop drawings, and construction administration support.
  • Periodic travel for business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation.
  • Oversight and assistance with compiling construction plans for submittal to relevant agencies.
  • Oversight and mentoring of project Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
  • Review of documents prepared by others and implementation of strict project quality control.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Florida. Additional state licensure through reciprocity is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of U.S. experience in design and permitting public or private projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of the project process from concept through construction.
  • Experience in stormwater management, water distribution, and sanitary sewer collection system design.
  • Ability to provide clear instruction and mentorship in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and independent judgment skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate project deadlines with a detail-oriented, quality-conscious approach.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
