Northrop Grumman Space Sector offers an exciting opportunity for a Staff Software DevOps Engineer (Level 5) supporting an Internal Research and Development (IRAD) group. This role, located in either Colorado Springs, CO or Boulder, CO, involves collaborating to understand system requirements and developing DevOps solutions using tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, SonarQube, Gherkin, Cucumber, and Docker.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to understand system requirements and create effective DevOps solutions.
  • Utilize tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, SonarQube, Gherkin, Cucumber, and Docker.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain containerized applications and automated pipelines.
  • Support an in-person/closed-area work environment.
  • Travel 10% as needed to support business requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 10 years of related experience, or 8 years with a PhD.
  • Must have an active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10%.
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficient in automated testing and establishing software development pipelines.
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using tools like Gherkin and Cucumber.
  • Familiarity with Software Change Control, Code Quality, Static Analysis, and CI/CD tools (Atlassian tool suite, Jira, GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, Jenkins).
  • Strong Unix/Linux operating system experience.
  • Must be able to support an in-person/closed-area work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations.
  • Experience implementing complex mathematical algorithms in code.
  • Background in automated software requirements testing and analysis.
  • Experience with battle management and/or fire control systems.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments.
  • Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.

Compensation

Colorado Springs: $161,000 - $241,400; Boulder: $177,000 - $265,600; Primary Level: $161,100 - $265,600. Offers may also include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and eligibility for long term incentives for higher level positions.
