[Remote] Content Writer, iRoofing

Position Overview

Porch Group is a leading vertical software and insurance platform dedicated to helping homebuyers. They are seeking a Content Writer to produce original content, edit manuscripts, and support marketing initiatives. This 100% remote role is open to candidates in the USA and plays a critical part in driving the company’s marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and pitch original content under the direction of a managing editor
• Produce a clear, direct authorial voice that aligns with the content marketing goals
• Write a minimum of 3-4 original content pieces per week under editorial guidance
• Routinely write and edit manuscripts, creative copy, and company-wide copy requests
• Edit drafts from multiple writers to ensure consistency in voice, tone, grammar, and industry knowledge
• Attend team meetings via Zoom and remain accessible on Slack during work hours
• Contribute to marketing team initiatives and support PR/outreach with written assets (e.g., guest posts, interviews)
• Create micro content for social media and other channels
• Work competently in Google Docs and WordPress
• Collaborate effectively within a creative team to meet shared marketing goals

Required Qualifications

• Strong grasp of grammar with the ability to follow brand tone and voice guidelines
• Naturally curious and creative thinker with excellent attention to detail
• Familiarity with AP style or willingness to learn and consistently apply it
• Highly organized with strong follow-up tendencies
• Ability to understand cultural trends and translate them effectively for diverse audiences
• Self-starter and natural storyteller capable of producing unique, compelling content
• Ability to mine data, interview subjects, and synthesize complex topics
• A quiet workspace with an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
• Possession of a laptop or desktop computer that meets the minimum technical requirements
• Being a news junkie is a plus
